ORLANDO, FL (UroToday.com) - Dr Phillips from Columbia University evaluated erythropoietin's (Epo) ability to protect the kidney during warm ischemia. 30 dogs underwent a laparoscopic nephrectomy and were then divided into 5 groups (n=6 each). Group 1 underwent 1.5h abdominal insufflation with placebo (saline) injection; Group 2 underwent 1.
