American College of Veterinary Surgeons Gather for the 2007 Surgical Summit
Record attendance of over 1,700 marked this year’s gathering of board certified veterinary surgeons, veterinary practitioners, specialty residents, technicians and other professionals for the 2007 ACVS Veterinary Symposium in Chicago, IL. Each year this premier educational and scientific meeting brings together leaders and innovators in the specialty of veterinary surgery and allied specialties from around the world.
This year’s Mark Allam Lecture was presented by B. Lynn Allen-Hoffmann, Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and the first woman faculty member to spin out a biotechnology company. Dr. Hoffman’s group is interested in cell signaling that regulate differentiation in keratinocytes from human stratified squamous epithelia.
