The American Society for Microbiology held its 108th General Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts from Sunday, June 1 to Thursday, June 5, 2008. All five days of a spectacular scientific program were held in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
The scientific program featured nearly 300 individual colloquia, symposia, roundtable discussions, award lectures, & poster sessions. The 27 division chairs & the General Meeting Program Committee have devoted their energies to creating a well-rounded program.

The 8th National Veterinary Conference of Nepal Veterinary Association (NVA), Kathmandu has been conducted from 8-10 May, 2008 with the slogan of "Veterinarian in global trade and poverty alleviation". The conference was inaugurated by Hon. Speaker of House of Representatives Mr. Subash Chandra Nembang at BICC Hall, Kathmandu. The function was attended by more than 400 veterinarians, sceintists and deligates across the country and aborad. During the function, leading veterinarians, innovative farmers, co-operatives and organizations having their distinguished contibution in the field of livestock development of Nepal, were felicitated.
