The Department of Population Health and Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor with research and clinical bacteriology skills.

Responsibilities of the position include:

    * Research: Develop an extramurally-funded research/graduate training program to investigate bacterial pathogens.
    * Teaching: Participate in the instruction of 1st and 4th year veterinary students.
    * Service: Serve as principle faculty advisor to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, and serve on the College Infectious Disease Committee. The VTH has a complete clinical microbiology laboratory to service the existing hospital and will provide service to the new Randall B. Terry Jr. Companion Animal Veterinary Medical Center being constructed on the College's campus. The veterinary campus has also recently expanded its research space with the addition of a new building. Preference will be given to applicants having both DVM and PhD degrees and certification by the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists. Candidates with PhD degrees and appropriate training will also be given careful consideration.
